Plácido Domingo for Czech TV
Soprano Lada Bočková is one of the most outstanding talents of the young Czech singing generation. She will open the season performing at an opera gala alongside the internationally renowned tenor René Barbera. In her concert activities, she will take on the soprano part in Mendelssohn’s monumental work Lobgesang with the Prague Symphony Orchestra (FOK). In a semi-staged performance of Haydn’s oratorio The Creation, she will sing the role of the archangel Gabriel under the baton of Tomáš Netopil. Another highlight will be her performance in the soprano part of Rossini’s spiritual masterpiece Stabat Mater with the Moravian Philharmonic Olomouc, conducted by Jakub Klecker. At the very beginning of the year, she will appear in the festive New Year’s Concert with the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic, conducted by Robert Kružík.
In the realm of opera, she returns to the Estates Theatre as Pamina in Mozart’s The Magic Flute and also appears as Gretel in Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel at the Prague State Opera.
At the South Bohemian Theatre, she will perform the role of Anne in the upcoming premiere of Grigorij Frid’s mono-opera The Diary of Anne Frank.
On the stage of the Antonín Dvořák Theatre in Ostrava, she can be seen as the Vixen in Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen and as Elena in Rossini’s comic opera The Italian Straw Hat. In February, she will further take on the role of Anaï in a new production of Rossini’s Moses and Pharaoh.
